Terms & privacy policy.
Straightforward and in plain English — how I handle your information, and the terms that apply when you use this website.
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Xiarn Adams (“I”, “me”, or “my”) is a New Zealand web designer who designs, builds and hosts websites for local businesses. This page sets out how I look after your personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, and the terms that apply when you use this website. By using this site or sending me an enquiry, you agree to what’s set out below.
Privacy policy
I only collect information I genuinely need to answer your enquiry and deliver my work, I keep it secure, and I never sell it. The sections below explain exactly what I collect and why.
What I collect
When you contact me through this website, I may collect:
- Information you give me directly through the contact form — your name, email address, phone number, business name, website, and any message you send.
- Messages you send through the chat widget on the site, along with a randomly generated session ID used only to keep your conversation together.
- Standard technical information your browser sends to any website — such as your IP address and basic request logs — handled by my hosting provider for security and reliability.
I don’t ask for sensitive information through this website, and you only share what you choose to send me.
How I use it
I use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and answer your questions.
- Prepare your free demo, quotes and proposals.
- Design, build, host and maintain your website.
- Keep in touch with you about your project and any support afterwards.
- Improve my service and keep this website working properly.
I’ll only use your details for the reason you gave them to me. I won’t add you to marketing lists you didn’t ask for.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask me what personal information I hold about you, to request a copy of it, and to ask me to correct anything that’s wrong. Just get in touch using the details below and I’ll sort it out. If you’re ever not happy with how I’ve handled your information, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Terms of use
You’re welcome to browse this website and use it to learn about what I do and get in touch. By using the site you agree to use it lawfully and not to misuse it, interfere with how it works, or attempt to access it in any way other than through the normal interface I provide.
Pricing & quotes
Any prices or figures shown on this website are indicative starting points to help you plan, not a fixed offer or a binding quote. Your final price depends on the scope of your project — the pages, features and any custom work involved. I provide a written quote before any work begins, and that quote — not this website — is what forms the basis of your project. A free demo is exactly that: a no-obligation preview, not a commitment to proceed. I may update my services, packages and pricing on the site at any time without notice.
Content & intellectual property
The content on this website — text, photographs, designs, logos, and layout — belongs to Xiarn Adams or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright. Work I create for a client is covered by that client’s own agreement: on completion, ownership of your finished website and domain is yours, as set out when I start. You’re welcome to view and share links to my pages, but please don’t copy, reproduce, or reuse my content for commercial purposes without my written permission. This site may link to other websites I don’t control; I’m not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Liability & governing law
I take care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but I provide it “as is” for general guidance and can’t guarantee it’s complete or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, I’m not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand and any dispute will be dealt with by the New Zealand courts.
